How to use the Quick Start Plus Report sorted on Power
www.ContendersWins.com
Our goal in handicapping any race is to first find the four Best Contenders based on our Handicapping Philosophy. The factors that are helpful for each of these categories are: 1. Best Early running horse ( Key to the Race ) ( early speed AND top 2 pro AND highest post position of any/all D3 horses ( down 30% ) if none then highest post position of any/all D2 horses ( down 20% ) and if no D3's or D2's then highest post position of any/all D1 horses.) AND (capital F 5th column horse ) 2. Best just off the Pace running horse ( xfactor AND power ) 3. Best Late closer/stretch runner ( highest power - (- under the G in Power Rating column ) horse AND 5th column capital V horse AND highest Late Speed AND highest Paceclass2 horse 4. Best Longshot possibility ( V OR ^ OR $ flags OR lowest power w horse OR highest post position d3,d2,d1 horse) First you MUST eliminate all scratched horses ( draw a line through the horse and its factors ). 1. Best Early running horse ( Key to the Race ) the selection is between the top 2 pro rated horses AND the top early speed horse AND the highest post position d3,d2,d1 horse AND capital F 5th column horse [[[[ one good method for picking among these is the one with the Lowest MUD Rating of these horses ]]]] 2. Best just off the Pace horse the selection is between the top power AND the top xfactor horse [[[[ one good method for picking among these is the one with the Highest Pro Rating, if the same horses then use the 2nd highest power rated horse and then the pick is the one with the Highest Pro Rating ]]]] 3. Best Late closer / stretch running horse ( First ... if the top Fairodds horse ( lowest fairodds) also has the highest Mud rating then that horse is automatically your best late closer / stretch running horse pick ) OTHERWISE the selection is between the highest power horse with a - ( under the G in Power Rating column )or the horse has a ( - or capital F or capital V horse ) in the fifth column ( under the i in HANDI or the s in FLAGS ) AND the top late speed rated horse AND the top Paceclass2 rated horse [[[[ one good method for picking among these is the horse with the Highest MUD Rating ]]]] 4. Best Longshot possibility if none of the previous 3 selected horses is 10-1 or better mlodds the selection is between the V flag horse, lowest power rated horse that won its last race, highest post position of any/all D3 horses ( down 30% ) if none then highest post position of any/all D2 horses ( down 20% ) and if no D3's or D2's then highest post position of any/all D1 horses. [[[[ one good method for picking among these is take the Capital V first ... if none then the D3 D2 or D1 horse ... and if none then the w horse ( lowest power rating of the horses that won their last race). ]]]] EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE. Exclude Turf races and Maiden races when more that half the horses are first time starters. In Non-Maiden Turf races consider the following: t handiflag, Top turf rating, * handiflag All Maiden races ( dirt or turf ) Highest Speedclass rated horse top power rated horse F handiflag horse - in fifth column All DIRT Races with a ^ handiflag horse. Any race with any horse having a ^ under the Handi Flags. 1. the ^ handiflag horse 2. the highest trip rated horse 3. top power rated horse 4. any handiflag horse ( highest power rated of these ) 5. if still have less than 4 horses then highest power rated horses of those not already selected. Races run on a sloppy track If the sloppy track rating is listed at the top of the report as a what's winning factor then use the top sloppy rating horse in your final 4 as your longshot horse unless already selected under one of the other factors ( wire to wire etc. ). Races run on a muddy track If the mud track rating is listed at the top of the report as a what's winning factor then use the top mud rating horse in your final 4 as your longshot horse unless already selected under one of the other factors ( wire to wire etc. ). Turf races with foreign shippers, horses having power ratings less than 1.00 ( some breeders cup races usually fit this criteria). Of these Foreign shippers having power ratings less than 1.00 ... Include the best paceclass2 number horse of the horses with a power rating less than 1.00. We recommend skipping the following races. Maiden races with more than half the field are first time starters. Maiden Turf races with more than one * handiflag horse. Races where using this method you still have more that 4 contenders. To make your final selection of these Contenders we suggest using What's Hot for that track and/or What's Winning for that type of race on the Quick Start report sorted on Power and/or even better, after the first few races are run, what is actually winning at that TRACK that DAY!!
